Weezer is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1992. Their lineup consists of Rivers "Bubble-ball" Cuomo, Brian Bell, Scott Shriner, and Patrick Wilson.

Contrary to popular belief, Weezer's best work doesn't exist on Pinkerton, or their debut for that matter, but instead on B-sides and demos.

Demos/songs from these eras:

"Let's Sew Our Pants Together", a song that features a 3/4 time signature, chromaticism, non-sensical lyrics, and an electric guitar solo near the end of the song.

'"'Thief, You've Taken All That Was Me", a primarily clean electric guitar riff driven the song with a Hendrix-inspired solo.

"Paperface", in which Weezer ventures back into it's punk and heavy metal roots with it's chorus, while still sticking to their pop-based, catchy verses. The bridge features songwriting more akin to Rivers' future style.

"Lullaby for Wayne", a particularly rough demo, features distorted guitars and hard-hitting drums.

The entirety of Songs from the Black Hole, an unreleased concept album which was originally intended to be Weezer's second album until Rivers decided to focus on his Madame Butterfly themed album Pinkerton instead.

"Getting Up and Leaving", a song written about Rivers moving to college, features a clean intro.

"Tragic Girl", a track that rivals "Across the Sea" in terms of raw emotion. Features an atypical song structure, with no dedicated chorus, but instead two similar sections repeating without pattern throughout.

Weezer (The Blue Album)[]

Weezer released their self-titled debut in 1994 to critical acclaim, the album's singles; "Buddy Holly", "Undone - The Sweater Song" and "Say It Ain't So" were all commercially successful.
