Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished is the debut album by Animal Collective. It was originally intended to be the solo debut of Avey Tare, but he recruited Panda Bear to do the album's percussion, and credited him. At this time, the group was not using the Animal Collective name, so it was released as "Avey Tare and Panda Bear." It was later reissued along with Danse Manatee in 2003 and credited to Animal Collective.
