Animal Collective have a large number of EPs. For the most part, they feature outtakes from their albums, although there are a few notable exceptions.
Prospect HummerEditProspect Hummer is Animal Collective's first EP, released on May 24, 2005. It is an accompaniment to Sung Tongs. Deakin plays in this EP, although he did not play on the album. This album is also notable for featuring vocals from folk singer Vashti Bunyan, who sings in most of the songs.

Fall Be KindEditFall Be Kind is Animal Collective's fourth EP, released on November 23, 2009. It features outakes from Merriweather Post Pavilion. It is notable for featuring the first ever liscened Grateful Dead sample on the track "What Would I Want? Sky." It was pitched by the band as having a much colder sound than the comparably summery Merriweather Post Pavilion.

KeepEditIn 2011, Animal Collective collaborated with Keep to design their own shoes. The first few orders received a casette EP with four tracks. The EP was something very different for the group, as instead of being collaborative in nature, it features one solo track made by each member of the band.

Transverse Temporal GyrusEditIn 2010, Animal Collective collaborated with Danny Perez to create an audiovisual performance piece for Guggenheim called Transverse Temporal Gyrus. In 2012, the band released a collage of music from the project as a Record Store Day EP, as well as an interactive online application.
